Terms & Conditions

Reservations and confirmations

Reservations must be reconfirmed by 5.00 pm the day prior to flying. Early morning the weather is checked regarding daily operation. If weather conditions preclude flying we can reschedule you to our next available day. It is wise to book well in advance especially during our peak season.  

Minimum age 

To book one of our day ski packages, the minimum age is 13 years, all guests under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult. The exception to this is our private charter options, please contact our team for more information. 

Payment

Credit card payment is required to pre-authorise and guarantee your booking. Full payment for your heli-ski trip will be taken on the day of your departure.  

If in the event that bad weather can prevent flying, reconfirmation must be made by 6.00 pm the day prior to flying / heli-ski.

Cancellations & refunds

A full refund can only be guaranteed if we receive your notice of cancellation at least 24 hours prior to skiing for our day heli-ski products or at least 48 hours prior for a private charter. Any cancellations within this time period from departure, full payment is retained. If adverse weather prevents flying, your money will be fully refunded. If some heli-ski runs have been completed, but fewer than the number of runs booked, you will be refunded at $100 per run not skied. Refunds are not given if runs are not completed due to the lack of ability or fitness.

Our Covid-19 conditions & cancellation policy

If you cannot travel because you are directly impacted by Covid-19 you will be offered the option to reschedule your booking or receive a full refund.
If we are required to move alert levels and reduce capacity or stop operating, you will be contacted by our team to organise a reschedule or refund.

Prices

Prices are per person and in New Zealand dollars. Inclusive of 15% GST (goods & services tax)  

Risk disclosure

All activity inherently involves risks and potential hazards, and we cannot anticipate or eliminate all risks, however together we can manage and mitigate risk. Often, we are operating in unmodified and uncontrolled terrain and a balanced and conservative approach is taken to accommodate changing conditions. Our risk management includes monitoring of natural hazards including potential atmospheric, land or water related occurrences (Landslides, earthquakes, tsunami, volcanic, storms, flooding, avalanche, rock, or ice fall).

We provide information to participants before and during the activity to ensure their participation suits their ability and objectives and is as safe as practicable with any potential changes identified prior or during the trip.

It is important clients acknowledge there are risks, understand safety information and briefings before and during their activity and follow the instructions set out by our experienced and trained teams.

Prevention of accidents and incidents is key in all our operations, and this is achieved when we all approach activities with care, control, and responsibility.

Safety management

Harris Mountains Heli-Ski is committed to ensuring the highest level of safety of all staff, visitors, contractors, and others who may interact with any part of our activities.

This is achieved through developing and maintaining a culture where safety is our paramount consideration in everything we do.

We actively promote safety objectives, not only in the operation of our assets and equipment, but also through maintenance practices, the management of passengers and the training and competency assessment of all staff to a very high standard.

Our teams of experienced and capable managers and skilled staff have specialist knowledge relevant to each of our aviation, marine and adventure operations. 

We have implemented Safety Management Systems approved by the relevant regulators.
Should other providers be contracted to deliver services, we check to ensure operators are regulated and audited for H&S compliance to a high standard.
